Coastal Pet Rescue Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

I suspect a neighbor of animal cruelty. Will you go get the pet?

We appreciate your concern for animals in need. Please note that Coastal Pet Rescue is not a law enforcement agency. We cannot go onto private property to remove animals. Please call your local animal control or law enforcement office to report animal abuse or neglect.

Lost and Found/Stray Pets/Feral Cats

By Georgia State law, all stray animals must first be reported to municipal animal control in the county where they were found before they can be rehomed or given to a rescue or shelter. Coastal Pet Rescue cannot accept any stray pets directly.

CPR also does not have a feral cat program, so we are unable to assist with those. You may contact the animal services in your county for trap loan and other feral cat programs.

Additionally, we do not have a clinic, so we are unable to accept injured or sick pets.
